Can construction robots like Robocon actually reduce labor shortages in developing countries?

That's what people are hoping and why the segment is gaining increasing funding.

FieldAI raised $405m to create AI software to power robotics and gained strong interest from construction. Given the shortage of labor plus increasing construction needs (i.e infrastructure spending), the money is there to adopt the solutions.

One challenge is business model and how they will be deployed. Do you rent, buy or hire as a service? GCs don't typically self perform so will subcontractors have them or will we see more robotic subcontractors like monumental?

There's a lot of challenges to be ironed out but as the technology has been progressing and funding increasing, it will initially be subsidised as people figure what works and can be used on site.
